About this document
A copyright assignment agreement records that a creator or owner transfers rights in a work to another party. It identifies the work, states whether all rights or only stated ones are assigned, where and for how long, the payment, credit and what the assignee may do with it.
This blank form is completed by hand and signed by both parties. The assignor confirms it created the work or owns the rights, that it is not copied and that nothing is assigned elsewhere, and says nothing about how broad or lasting the rights are. Whether and how an assignment must be made or recorded for a work that is registered differs, so check the relevant office or a lawyer.
