About this document
A letter of recommendation is written by someone who knows a person's work to support their application for a job, programme, award or membership. This form asks for who you are and how you know them, what they did and at what scale, what they are like to work with, three specific things you saw, why they suit the role, how they have developed and your recommendation.
It is a blank letter to complete by hand and sign. It is a writing aid, not a legal document. It asks you to write honestly and from what you know, and says whether you are content for it to be shown to others. What an employer may ask a referee, and how references are treated in law, varies, so be factual.

Questions
About the letter of recommendation
It should be honest and factual. Rules about references, and what an employer may say, differ by place, and some employers have a policy. If unsure, check with your employer.
